Happy Birthday Drake!

Well, today our little man hits the double digits!  Wow, I just can't get over the fact that he is 10 years old.  I asked him this morning if you would just stay in bed all day so that his Birthday couldn't find him, but he didn't agree to that.  "I have to turn 10!" he tells me.  I told him I wasn't ready to lose my little baby boy and his response was "Well, lucky for you, I'm not growing that fast!"  HAHA!

Today also makes me remember how lucky we are to have him in our lives.  Even though we live a packed to the bone life right now, it's all worth it!  He is growing up to be such a polite and funny young man!  He is constantly filling our days with humorous things he comes up with.

Offically a 4th Grader!!

Well, it's that time of year again.  School has officially started.  Drake is now a 4th Grader.  School started last Thursday and he has Mrs. Heyen as his teacher.  He is very excited to be coming home right after school instead of going to daycare.  He is also riding his bike or walking in the mornings with some of the neighbor kids, which he LOVES.  We are so proud of him and the turn around he has made.  He has made LOTS of friends!

With the start of school, I'm sure that we are about to see a packed schedule!  We will be doing our first year of football this year.  Games will be on Saturdays!  It’s amazing how a year ago he refused to watch the Huskers with us and now I find him watching football and other sports in his room.  He likes Oregon, because they have cool outfits.  Now tell me that doesn’t sound like something my son would say!!  He also loves shoes!  That makes me very happy!

Drake is also signed up for gymnastics every Wednesday night.  Since the little neighbor girl who watched him this summer does it he just had to too!  Dad isn't too sure about this, but keeps telling himself "it will help in actual sports :)"

We are very excited to see what this school year holds in store for us!

Best Brothers EVER!

Last one for the day I swear, but I wanted to post before my little brother left for the unknown tomorrow morning. Even just writing this I know that I will, and already have, broken down in tears. A sister could not possibly ask for two better brothers, which are completely opposite, but neither one that less special.

My older little brother is Nick, which is the main reason that my co-workers are looking at me like I am nuts right now, will be leaving for Korea tomorrow morning. I do believe that God was testing him, since it looked like he would never get to board the plane and head to the other side of the world.  We were lucky enough to have him stay with us for a few days before he left for Colorado to spend some time with my parents.  With a delayed passport, and a car that decided it hated that fact the he was leaving and broke down, I think he doubted when he would start his new journey.  Lets just hope that he can deal with 5-6 year olds for a year! I know he will do AWESOME at his new adventure, I just hope that he doesn’t like it enough to stay longer!!

My little little brother is Brandon, which I call Bo, and I will never stop calling him that!  He is definitely the artsy one of the bunch and probably the one who will tell me my layout is totally ridiculous. He is still going to UNL and should be done soon, I would think! I think Bo and my mom will be the most affected by Nick’s departure, why, because they are huge cry babies (which I am not) Mom do not yell at me for this! I should be mad at you because I inherited this awful gene!  None the less I think we will all miss him A LOT!

The Midge

I guess first I should introduce you to the Drake.  He's nine and already going into 4th grade at Doniphan-Trumbull.  I have no idea how he got so old so fast, it doesn’t feel right that he will be hitting double digits in just a few short months.  He is basically what our life revolves around.  Right now we are in the midst of baseball season.  For being his first year, he is showing some great talent.  His favorite position is catcher.  With him playing and Logan helping the team out, our nights are quite busy.  I love how Logan is so involved in all of Drake’s activities.  I really choose a ‘keeper,’   and Drake LOVES having him there helping!

Besides baseball, I also believe that we need to get this boy into some acting classes! Everything is OVER THE TOP, whether it playing or because he is about to die because he has to take out the trash, this kid puts drama into everything he does.  Drake is the main reason I decided to start this blog.  I want to be able to keep everybody up to date on what he is doing!  Logan and I live a pretty uneventful life, which wouldn’t make for a very interesting blog to follow!

The Start of Something New

So I decided that I should start a blog!  With all the changes in our family, and all of my family moving everywhere but closer to me, I decided this would be the best way to share pictures and news about what’s happening with our little family in the big town of Doniphan!
